Classmates,

I've just eaten my last portion of a Bo Peep salt fish patty that I brought back to get me through rough moments on Wall Street and truly wished that I was back on Magens Bay enjoying it's turquoise-blue waters.

The time spent at the reunion activities was certainly worth it as I haven't laughed like that in years from all the old-time jokes. I saw great friends that I hadn't seen since we marched across Reichold Center for the Performing Arts back in June of 84 in our caps and gowns. My ears are still ringing from the screams of surprise when old friends embraced and cried happy tears of joy at various events. High school rivalry seem to melt away as we bonded, exchanged business cards and family photos while eating local dishes we haven't tasted in years.

The phrase you heard constantly was "where has 20 years gone?". At the 2004 CAHS graduation, I choked up a bit when I realized that these graduates were not born when we left high school and a few of our classmates experienced the thrill of their children receiving diplomas. Seeing the reunion classes from 1934 up to 1994 let me know that unity was important for us as the Class of 1984. I saw Mr. Callwood (shop teacher) jumped onto the stage to join his high school class as they took their 50th reunion photo. Although we do have jobs to attend to, families to raise and life's daily pressures, it is urged that we unite as we move forward as one.

The majority of us are off island and are living in the various states. It should be possible to have an annual week-end reunion around one of the carnivals held on the east coast (Maryland, DC, Baltimore, Atlanta, etc) leading up to our 25 Silver Anniversary in 5 years in St. Thomas. These annual week-end reunions would enable those on the mainland and surrounding areas to fundraise, submit dues and also to keep in touch with happening back home. Any thoughts on this suggestion, kindly let me know. Those who know the whereabouts of 'lost' classmates should inform the reunion committee.

Again, thanks for the insane moments, hugs that crushed my ribs and side splitting laughter while being chased by a dozen iguanas at the Family Picnic.

I was a bit disappointed when some female classmates who promised to bring bring gold/blue pom-poms and wear cheerleading outfits to the CAHS vs. EKHS basketball game got cold feet, yet, we WON that game hands down!!!! It was a sight seeing our classmates who are pushing 40 in age, breathing hard on the court while holding Ben-Gay..lol.....Go Dwayne, Sinclair, Tito with your bad selves...

At the Greenhouse bash, some classmates have not learned how to behave themselves and I hope they never change..for a moment I thought it was J'Ouvert 84 style.....lol!!

I take my hat off to the Reunion Committee for a well-planned time. As one classmates let me know point blank----regarding the inside meleh on going ons during the cruise...."what happens on the Cruise...stays on the Cruise"!!

Get on the Birthday Party List...  (top)
